Harper Referral Program Terms

These terms explain how referral links may be used, what qualifies as a valid referral, the attribution period, invite activity, and the conditions for reviewing, paying, canceling, or adjusting rewards.

Version 1.0.0, effective July 16, 2026. Please read these Terms together with the Harper Privacy Policy.

These Terms explain when a referral by a user participating in the Harper Referral Program qualifies as a valid referral, when it may be eligible for reward review, and when a reward may be canceled or adjusted.

1. Purpose of the Program

Harper is an AI career agent that helps talent discover opportunities suited to their career background and preferences in a more trustworthy way. Talented people often learn about Harper through colleagues, peers, mentors, researchers, founders, and recruiters who already understand their capabilities and career direction.

The Referral Program allows Harper to offer rewards as a token of appreciation for these introductions. The Program is not intended to encourage mass invitations, spam, or the unauthorized collection of contact information. It prioritizes the referred person's freedom of choice and privacy.

2. Definitions

  • “Referrer” means a Harper user who shares a referral link provided by Harper.
  • “Referred Person” means a person who visits or signs up for Harper through a referral link.
  • “Referral Link” means a unique URL or token issued by Harper to a Referrer.
  • “Valid Referral” means a referral that satisfies these Terms and is recognized by Harper as attributable to the Referrer.
  • “Successful Hire” means that a Referred Person has entered into an employment agreement or a comparable contract with a company through Harper and has actually begun work or performing the contract.
  • “Reward” means a monetary payment that Harper may provide after internal review when a Valid Referral results in a Successful Hire.

3. Eligibility to Participate

Users with a Harper account may participate in the Referral Program unless Harper separately restricts their participation.

The following persons are not eligible to receive Rewards without Harper's prior written approval:

  • Harper employees, contractors, advisors, or anyone directly involved in operating the Program
  • Anyone referring themselves
  • Anyone who collects or shares a Referred Person's personal data without that person's consent
  • Anyone who creates or manipulates visits, signups, or hires through fraudulent means
  • Anyone who makes a referral in violation of applicable law, their organization's internal policies, or conflict-of-interest obligations

Harper may approve, restrict, suspend, or terminate participation in the Program. Any referrals that were validly made before such action will be reviewed under the terms that applied at the time.

4. How to Make a Referral

A Referrer may share the personal Referral Link provided by Harper through appropriate channels, including email, messaging services, communities, and personal networks.

If a Referred Person clicks a Referral Link and signs up for Harper, that signup may be associated with the Referrer's link. Merely sending a link does not qualify the Referrer for a Reward.

If a Referrer provides Harper with personal data about a specific person, such as their name, email address, phone number, or career information, the Referrer must have the right or consent required to share that information.

A Referrer must not represent that Harper guarantees a hire, interview, specific salary, or specific Reward.

5. Requirements for a Valid Referral

For a referral to be valid, all of the following conditions must be met:

  • The Referred Person must not be an existing Harper user, already be in Harper's candidate pipeline, or have been contacted directly by Harper within the previous 90 days.
  • The Referred Person must click the Referral Link and personally complete the Harper signup process.
  • No Valid Referral already confirmed by signup may exist for the same Referred Person under another Referrer.
  • The Referrer and the Referred Person must not be the same person.
  • The referral process must not involve false information, automated traffic, reward manipulation, spam, or unauthorized sharing of personal data.
  • The Referred Person must agree to the Harper Terms of Use and Privacy Policy and actually use the Harper service.

If more than one Referral Link is used for the same person, Harper determines the Valid Referral based on the Referral Link identified when the person requests to sign up, rather than simply the first link they visited. If the person opens a different Referral Link before signing up and completes signup through that link, the signup may be associated with the later identified link. However, once a Valid Referral for that person has been confirmed by signup, attribution cannot be changed to another Referral Link. Harper determines attribution by considering system logs, signup records, operational records, and indications of fraudulent activity.

6. Attribution Period

The reward-review period for a Valid Referral is 12 months from the date the Referred Person creates a Harper account.

If the Referred Person achieves a Successful Hire through Harper during this period, the referral may be eligible for reward review. As a general rule, hires occurring after the 12-month period, hires in which Harper was not involved, and hiring processes that were already underway before the Referred Person signed up for Harper are not eligible for a Reward.

Harper may deny or adjust a Reward even within the attribution period in the event of fraud, data errors, client settlement errors, or legal restrictions.

7. Invite Activity and Invite List

Harper may display the following numbers to a Referrer:

  • Link visits: the number of visits to Harper through the Referral Link
  • Signups: the number of people acquired through the Referral Link who created a Harper account and whose signup was confirmed
  • Hires: the number of people acquired through the Referral Link whom Harper has confirmed achieved a Successful Hire through Harper
  • Paid: the number of Successful Hires for which Harper has confirmed that the Reward was paid

Displayed numbers may be adjusted for fraud prevention, deduplication, data delays, and correction of system errors. The number of visits may be affected by browsers, cookies, bots, and repeat visits, so it is provided for reference only and does not guarantee a Reward.

A Referrer may view the name, profile photo, short introduction, and Harper hiring status of people who completed signup through their Referral Link in the invite list. This information is provided only to the extent necessary to confirm referral attribution and reward status.

Harper does not provide the Referrer with detailed recruiting information about the Referred Person, including their email address, contact information, associated company name, application or interview stage, offer, or salary. If the Referred Person edits or deletes profile information on Harper, those changes may also appear in the invite list.

8. Reward Criteria

If a Referred Person achieves a Successful Hire through Harper, the Referrer may become eligible for a Reward following Harper's internal review.

The standard Reward range is KRW 2.5 million to KRW 10 million, depending on the salary and contract terms of the position, the recruiting fee Harper has actually received or is confirmed to receive, and confirmation of the hire. As a general rule, the Reward is calculated as 20% of the recruiting fee paid to Harper, but the actual amount may vary based on salary, contract terms, settlement terms, and the outcome of Harper's internal review.

There is no separate limit on the number of people for whom Rewards may be paid. If multiple people are hired through Harper, each Successful Hire is reviewed separately for a Reward.

A Reward will be reviewed only if all of the following conditions are met:

  • The referral must be valid under these Terms.
  • The Referred Person must have entered a hiring process through Harper and achieved a Successful Hire within the attribution period.
  • The employment agreement or comparable contract between the hiring company and the Referred Person must have actually commenced.
  • Harper must have actually received, or be confirmed to receive, the fee or other compensation associated with the hire.
  • The Referrer must not be subject to payment restrictions or have engaged in fraud, an undisclosed conflict of interest, or a violation of law.
  • The Referrer must provide any identity verification, payment, and tax information requested by Harper.

A visit, signup, completed profile, interview, or offer alone does not create a right to a Reward.

9. Payment Timing and Taxes

Rewards are paid after a Successful Hire and completion of Harper's internal review. As a general rule, Harper reviews payment after 90 days have passed from the later of the employment start date or the date Harper completes settlement with its client. Payment timing may vary depending on the probationary period, the possibility of contract withdrawal, the client's settlement schedule, and tax and reporting procedures.

Each Referrer is responsible for confirming any tax, reporting, internal approval, or conflict-of-interest disclosure obligations that apply to them in connection with a Reward. Harper may carry out any withholding, payment-statement, documentation, and identity-verification procedures required by applicable law.

If a Referrer does not provide payment or tax information requested by Harper, payment of the Reward may be delayed or restricted.

10. Cancellation, Recovery, and Adjustment

A Reward may not be paid, or a Reward already paid may be canceled, recovered, or adjusted, if any of the following applies:

  • The hire is canceled before employment or contract performance begins.
  • The Referred Person leaves or their contract ends during the probationary period or a comparable period.
  • The client does not pay the fee owed to Harper or the fee is refunded.
  • False information, fraud, an undisclosed conflict of interest, or a violation of law is identified in the referral or hiring process.
  • The Referred Person already had a relationship with Harper or another Referrer had an earlier Valid Referral.
  • The referral was incorrectly identified as eligible for a Reward because of a system error or duplicate counting.
  • The Referrer does not provide payment information or cooperate with identity verification.

Harper may prioritize offsetting an amount to be recovered against future Rewards instead of making a direct claim for repayment. Depending on the circumstances, Harper may request a separate repayment.

11. Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct may result in exclusion from the Program, cancellation of Rewards, or account restrictions:

  • Increasing visits or signups through fake accounts, automated tools, bots, or paid traffic
  • Inducing false signups by promising to share a Reward with a Referred Person
  • Providing personal data without consent, sending bulk spam, or violating community rules
  • Making misleading statements or false guarantees to Harper, a hiring company, or a Referred Person
  • Guaranteeing hiring prospects, acceptance, salary, or Reward payment without Harper's prior approval
  • Violating an organization's internal referral, outside-employment, conflict-of-interest, or confidentiality obligations
  • Sending Referral Links in unsolicited bulk promotional messages or ignoring a recipient's request not to receive messages

Harper has final authority to determine whether conduct undermines the integrity of the Program.

12. Conflicts of Interest

If a Referrer has a material relationship with a Referred Person or a hiring company, including an employment, investment, advisory, family, or financial relationship, the Referrer must independently confirm the applicable laws and internal policies.

If a Referrer makes a referral as an employee, recruiter, investor, or advisor of an organization, the referral must not violate that organization's internal policies or any agreement with a third party. Harper is not responsible for issues arising from a Referrer's breach of obligations to a third party.

13. Personal Data and Consent

When sharing a Referral Link, a Referrer must respect the Referred Person's freedom of choice. Harper may process information needed to confirm Referral Link visits, signups, and hiring attribution, including tokens, visit logs, signup status, and Successful Hire status.

Harper may provide a Referrer with aggregate numbers, basic profile information needed to confirm referral attribution, and whether a Successful Hire occurred. Harper does not provide detailed information such as email addresses, contact information, company names, application stages, offers, or salaries.

For more information about the processing of personal data, please refer to the Harper Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to or Termination of the Program

Harper may change, suspend, or terminate the Referral Program and these Terms based on operational needs, changes in law, fraud prevention, or changes to its business model.

Harper will provide notice of material changes through the website, app, email, or another appropriate channel where reasonably possible. As a general rule, Valid Referrals made before a change will be reviewed under the terms that applied at the time, except in cases involving a violation of law or fraudulent activity.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Referral Program will be resolved by a court of competent jurisdiction in the Republic of Korea as provided by applicable law.

FAQ

Can I receive a Reward for a link visit alone?

No. A visit or signup alone does not create a Reward. A Successful Hire through Harper and internal review are required.

What if the Referred Person already knows about Harper?

Existing users, people already in Harper's pipeline, and people contacted by Harper within the previous 90 days may be excluded from Valid Referrals.

If two people refer the same person, who receives attribution?

Attribution goes to the Referral Link identified when the Referred Person signs up for Harper, not simply to the person whose link was visited first. For example, if someone visits A's link without signing up, then returns through B's link and signs up, the referral may be attributed to B. Once a Valid Referral has been confirmed by signup, attribution cannot be changed to another Referral Link.

How long is a Referral Link valid?

The link itself may remain active while Harper operates the Program. However, the reward-review period is 12 months from the date the Referred Person creates a Harper account.

How much is the Reward?

The standard range is KRW 2.5 million to KRW 10 million. As a general rule, the amount is calculated as 20% of the recruiting fee paid to Harper. The actual amount is determined based on the position's salary, contract terms, the fee Harper actually receives, and the outcome of internal review.

When is the Reward paid?

As a general rule, Harper reviews payment after 90 days have passed from the later of the employment start date or the date Harper completes settlement with its client. Payment may be put on hold due to a probationary period, the possibility of contract withdrawal, tax procedures, or identity verification.

What happens if the Referred Person leaves the company?

If the contract ends during the probationary period or a comparable period, or if the client settlement is canceled, the Reward may be canceled, recovered, or adjusted.

Can I view a list of the people I referred?

Yes. In the invite list, you can view the name, profile photo, short introduction, and Harper hiring status of people who signed up through your link. Detailed information such as email addresses, contact information, associated company names, application stages, offers, and salaries is not displayed.

How can I contact Harper with questions?

Please send questions about the Referral Program to chris@matchharper.com.
